  • Moderation Panel

    The All-New Moderation Panel

Introducing the all-new moderation panel. A place to have a 360 view of items that require your attention to keep your community healthy.

Approve new member requests. archive reported posts by other members and allow pending posts to get published. All in one panel.

    What problems have been addressed?

    • It used to be that moderators did not have access to the moderation tools (the irony) within the admin panel due to access level. Now both admin and moderators can manage their respective groups.
    • The tools and settings were scattered around the admin panel which made it very hard to find.
    • There was no way to find pending items unless you check the admin panel or spot them in the feed.

The above items are all now resolved. New features will get improved iteratively based on your feedback. Check the new moderation panel (directly accessible from the profile dropdown) and let us know what you think and how it could get better. 🤘

    How Does Moderation Panel Work:

We made it easier for users with a moderator role to access the "Moderation" section for the entire community. Just to add, the Moderation section is now enabled even if you don't have the "Moderation App" enabled in your community. You will see the new Moderation Section when you click on your Avatar on the upper right part of your community.

We've put everything related to moderation in one place to make it easier for Moderators to monitor the entire community. Pending members (who have requested to join private groups), Pending posts (sent to the moderation because they are not meeting the rules defined in the moderation app settings), and Reported posts (for the already lived posts which are reported as spam or harassment by regular members in the community).

Users with the "Moderator" role on their community accounts can access all the items in the moderation section. They can also click on the "Feed" button to filter the items based on "Groups" so that they only see the items related to that specific group.

Users with the "Group Moderation" role can only see the items related to their group(s) in the moderation section.

Also, on top of the home feed, moderators can see a message like the one below that informs them how many items are still pending in the moderation section that they have access to.

What can the moderators expect to access in the new Moderation section?

    1. Pending members - All users asking to join a private group.
    2. If you "Accept", the users will be added to the group. If you "Decline", the user will not be able to join the group.
    3. Pending Posts - Pending posts blocked by moderation app per group, all groups, and Feed (general home feed).
    4. If you "Approve", the content will be added to the community. If you "Dismiss", the content will be deleted.
    5. Reported Posts - All the posts reported by regular members as spam or harassment.
    6. If you "Approve", the content will be added to the community again. If you "Dismiss", the content will be deleted.

Is the moderation panel CSS editable at the moment? We are wanting to make changes to the colors and text placement.

For our personal requirements, what would be a game changer and highly useful for the ease of our ambassadors/moderators would be to see the numbers and % of unanswered and unread/uncommented on posts...

I'd also like to add that it would be nice if a notification was automatically sent to the user whose post was approved by an admin otherwise they would have to check manually?

Could you take a look at notification settings?

tribe sends to much spam, which makes users unsubscribe and stop using the forum.

it should only send “daily email digests” for topics and “weekly digests...

It would be really nice to add in the following abilities:

    1) add business rules to the mod panel so you could assign moderators to a group or topic

    2) add business rules for virtual currency so that ...

I believe I might have discovered a bug. Here's how to reproduce:

    1. Report a post so that it can be reviewed in the moderation panel
    2. Delete the same post
    3. Now the moderation panel shows 1 pending item even ...

The only improvement: How can we take moderation to the GROUP level instead of community levels. SOME groups DO NOT need moderations - while others do! :)

    Hi everyone -

Has anyone had issues with posts containing banned words showing up? We are also seeing flagged posts. In the Moderation panel, we see the flagged posts, but not the posts with banned ...
